Cyberport’s Hong Kong-Shanghai delegate visit yields fruitful collaboration
Over 50 participants including representatives from six incubatees attended Hong Kong-Shanghai E-commerce Seminar and Business Matching Trip at the end of February.
The half day seminar featured leading technology companies in China including Lakala.com, Eastday.com, Dianrong.com among others as well as government officials from Pudong, Zhangjiang, Putuo, Hangkou and Jiading.
The event, organised by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and Cyberport, also arranged corporate visits for the participants. The delegation visited the Lujiazui Emerging Finance Park, the Ants Empire - the incubation and co-working space owned and operated by Hujiang.com, China’s largest online education company, InnoSpace, as well as the Cyberport Shanghai Representative Office (SRO).
The participants were encouraged to experience the SRO’s soft-landing facilities and resources offered by Cyberport’s collaborative accelerators and partners in Shanghai.
“The trip was a phenomenal success. Many of the participants forged promising relationships with potential partners. For instance, incubatee Heycoins had follow-up discussions with Diangrong.com and the Ants Empire. Heycoins has become a soft- landing company at SRO and plans on exploring opportunities with UnionPay China and InnoSpace,” said Herman Lam, CEO of Cyberport.
“Separately, incubatee BondIT and incubatee alumni and Smart-Space company QWeUs connected with local players to explore potential synergies. We are very pleased with the outcome of this delegation,” he added.
