103 start-ups hone their pitching skills with 500 Startups at Cyberport Angel Investor Pitch Training

Following the successful Cyberport Angel Investor Pitch Training in May, Cyberport teamed up with 500 Startups again in October to offer Cyberport community start-ups another invaluable opportunity to learn the ropes of pitching from one of the most revered global venture fund and accelerator.

More than 103 start-ups from 58 companies, most of them newly admitted Cyberport incubatees, joined the two-day workshop to learn the essential skills and techniques necessary to succeed in the business – pitching to top-tier VCs locally and globally.

The rich training programme covered such vital topics as growth hacking and go-to-market strategies, Series A fundraising, public speaking, killer pitch preparation, and term sheet negotiation. There were also inspiring fireside chats of local VCs revealing what they look for in pitches, and successful start-ups sharing their secret sauce of success.

During One-on-one Office Hours, start-ups had a chance to sit down with their instructors for 30 minutes of one-on-one mentoring. And towards the end of the workshop, the start-ups applied what they learned from the sessions and delivered practice pitches to a panel of judges for live feedback.

The event was part of Cyberport’s talent cultivation and start-up nurturing efforts, which offer start-ups regular opportunities to receive training directly from renowned professionals from the field. Top 10 teams comprising Interlinkages, SkyeBrowse, 42Laboratory, Ambit Geospatial Solution, Altcoin Fantasy, Atutus, Swifthon Technology, AureliaCare, Pakpobox, Block Aero Technologies were selected by 500 Startups who joined the pitching session and investor matching at Cyberport Venture Capital Forum in early November.

More trainings will be organized including the Hyperledger Sawtooth Blockchain Application Developer Workshop on 5-6 December, designed & delivered by Hyperledger general member Blockchain Technology Partners. The workshop will provide participants with a thorough understanding of the key concepts required to successfully develop & deploy distributed applications on a Hyperledger Sawtooth blockchain network.
