Cyberport FinTech start-ups dazzled at Hong Kong FinTech Week 2018
The much-anticipated Hong Kong FinTech Week returned in the last week of October, the region’s leading Fintech events for start-ups, executives, investors, regulators, and academics from more than 50 countries and regions.
As Hong Kong’s preeminent FinTech hub and the event’s FinTech Partner, Cyberport showcased the diversity, vitality and leadership of Cyberport’s FinTech community at the Cyberport Pavilion comprising nine extraordinary FinTech start-ups and a professional organisation for FinTech.
The ensemble included Galileo Platform (InsurTech), Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (IFTA, professional accreditation body), Kristal.AI (Robo-advisor), HedgeVista (hedge fund investment platform), Koinbros (cryptocurrency), Loopnest (FinTech accelerator), I2ilogic (financial institution-to-business platform), Transwap (money exchange and transfer), Oneday Capital (asset management), and Finastra (top three largest FinTech company in the world).
During the event, Krystal.AI announced the launch of Hong Kong’s first SFC-approved, virtual AI-powered fund manager for retail banking customers. Using the company’s proprietary Advisory Algorithm, the product offers individual investors with portfolios of HK$1,000 and more to invest in global markets, including US, Europe, and China and across multiple asset classes. Kristal.AI's “FREE for Life - Starters Solution” is now available to anyone with a Hong Kong bank account and a smartphone.
In addition to the exhibition, Cyberport played host of a side programme to introduce the “Hidden Gems in Cyberport FinTech” featuring promising Fintech start-ups of Cyberport, and co-organised a tour with Finastra where 30 FinTech Week participants visited the Future of Banking Center of Excellence, opened earlier this year at Cyberport to drive the financial services industry’s digitisation.
The Hong Kong FinTech Week is an annual signature event organised by InvestHK. The event encompassed seminars, workshops, demos, pitches, exhibitions, business matching and networking sessions as well as a Shenzhen track to showcase the FinTech developments and opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
