Cyberport’s Smart-Space 8 in Tsuen Wan is open for online application  

Online application for Smart-Space 8, Cyberport’s first off-campus co-working space dedicated to young entrepreneurs, was officially open on 1 June.

 

The 20,000-square-foot office, specifically designed for young entrepreneurs, is located at CDW Building, conveniently located in the heart of Tusen Wan town centre, connected to MTR station through covered walkway.  

 

The Smart-Space 8 will offer full entrepreneurial support and value-added services just as the Smart-Space back at Pokfulam campus. It will bring Cyberport’s experience in nurturing start-ups, its extensive network and resources, incubation programmes, industry events, business development consultation and training as well as recruitment activities, to support young entrepreneurs along their business building journey.  

 

Mr Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport, said, “The Hong Kong SAR Government has provided significant support for the establishment of this co-working space in Tsuen Wan town centre. We strive to cultivate digital technology talent, drive digital transformation by promoting the integration of new economy with traditional business, and help further development of digital technology industry.  Smart-Space 8 will serve these purposes and extend Cyberport’s comprehensive support for start-ups from Hong Kong Island to other parts of the city, unleashing the potential of more aspiring young people, especially those who are interested in digital entertainment and games development.”

 

Since 2009, Cyberport has set up a total of seven Smart-Space at the Pokfulam campus, which have today turned into a vibrant entrepreneurial community comprising start-ups working in various technology fields such as FinTech, AI/big data, smart city/smart living, e-Sports/digital entertainment and blockchain. Thriving companies at Smart-Space include logistic platform GOGOVAN, online travelling expert KLOOK, and e-wallet TNG.

 

Individuals wishing to apply for Smart-Space 8 must be aged between 18 and 35. Meanwhile; while companies submitting an application should have an operational history under seven years, and at least one of the co-founders aged from 18 to 35.
