Hong Kong welcomes United Nations ESCAP to host Asia-Pacific Business Forum 2018 at Cyberport 

The Asia-Pacific Business Forum (APBF) is the flagship regional business Forum organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) since 2004 at different locations within its 53 Member States.   This year Hong Kong is the host city and Cyberport will be jointly organising this high profile event on 10-11 April with ESCAP with support from the Innovation and Technology Bureau of HKSAR Government. 

APBF 2018 - “Harnessing Business with the Sustainable Development Goals through Technology, Innovation and Financing” will focus on FinTech, AI, Digital Silk Road and Impact Entrepreneurship.  

APBF’s mission is to provide a unique platform for regional public-private sector dialogue on the role and needs of business in achieving inclusive, resilient and sustainable development. The Forum targets participants who are policy makers, business leaders, innovators, investors, academia and those who are interested to gather and exchange insights on how private sector-led innovation, technology and financing can enhance efforts towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and associated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as laid out by the United Nations.

A prominent line-up of regional speakers and seasoned industry experts will address a wide range of forefront economic issues, such as economic transformation through innovation and technology, public-private collaboration in scaling up sustainable investing, implications of artificial intelligence in work and society, fostering regional Fintech collaboration under Belt & Road initiative, economic outlook and policy challenges in emerging Asia, impact entrepreneurship in Asia-Pacific, business innovation in disaster recovery risk reduction, smart energy, to name a few.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to check out the innovative solutions from a number of start-ups and SME showcase during the event for valuable business exchange with local and regional exhibitors.
