Broadway Cyberport unveils city’s first high-tech 4K cinema screen 

Broadway Cyberport has unveiled the city’s first ever 4K Laser Premium Large Format - a cinema screen spanning 19.1m x 8.1m and promises to give up to 327 viewers the best ever visual experience.

Developed by the China Film Giant Screen (CGS), the 4K image processing algorithms improve image sharpness and resolution, aiming for clear, clean and vivid images and sound. CGS offers custom content mastering services to digital contents so as to provide outstanding quality imagery and sound.

“This is an exciting new phase in the development of the next generation cinema screen technology. Cyberport, as a leading technology hub, is proud to be the first spot in town for launching this high-end technology.  This major upgrade will deliver an unprecedented and dynamic viewing experience to audiences in Hong Kong and worldwide,” said Herman Lam, CEO of Cyberport.

CGS recently formed a three-year strategic partnership for world-wide technology development and business collaboration with California-based THX Limited, a cinema screen and consumer electronics certification company that maintains world-class standards for the world’s movie theatres, game consoles and video games.  THX Limited is a subsidiary of Razer Inc.
