Student teams gear up for Entrepreneurship Boot Camp at Stanford
University students of the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) attend the scheme’s pre-camp nurturing sessions in August and September.
The eight sessions feature renowned speakers including representatives from the Securities and Future Commission, DBS Bank, Citi Hong Kong, Thomson Reuters and EY on a wide range of topics designed to enhance the industrial knowhow of CUPP teams to develop FinTech solutions to address the market needs.
Areas covered by the pre-camp sessions included global financial services and legal regulations, new technology applications in business, financial organisations and systems and technology evolution in the investment related financial ecosystem. There are also opportunities to consult with representatives from a number of renowned finance companies and meet up with the industrial mentors.
“By attending these pre-camp sessions, students are not only better prepared for the week, but they will also be able to leverage on what they have learnt to maximise their potential in FinTech and entrepreneurship,” explained Dr. Toa Charm, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport.
CUPP participants will be given a range of learning opportunities throughout the week at Stanford Graduate School of Business from small study groups to corporate visits and pitching. They shall fine-tune their project ideas for the final pitch in November, where 10 teams will qualify for the HK$100,000 Cyberport Creative Micro Fund.
