Cyberport start-ups shine at the global arena of RISE 

 

Over 120 local start-ups, of which more than ten came from Cyberport, participated at the much anticipated three-day RISE in Hong Kong this July, enjoying an unbeatable global stage where businesses featured their best ideas.

 

Participating start-ups from Cyberport included Aftership, Bonnect, Booqed, Dragon Law, Nexchange, Seasonalife, AppQuick, E-Fever, HedgeVista, OmyCAR and Quik Ventures.

 

Now running in its third year, RISE is the largest start-up event in Asia where entrepreneurs and investors from around the world meet and find ways to expand their business globally.

 

Incubatees Booqed and OmyCAR participated in the conference’s pitching session with the former making the pitch final. Meanwhile, Steven Lam, Co-founder of incubatee alumnus GOGOVAN also shared his insights on raising capital in a challenging environment.

 

Some 250 speakers took to the main floor covering a gamut of exciting technology industry issues and challenges facing start-ups today. These included how technology is reshaping the e-commerce experience, venturing in Asia Pacific, FinTech, AI and AR, new technology frontiers, among many others.

 

Our incubation team co-hosted a booth with InvestHK and was excited to see how overseas start-ups are keen to explore the opportunities in expanding their footprint to Hong Kong.
