The US-China Strong Foundation has chosen Mandarin Matrix to be its technology platform implementation partner to fulfil the mission of its ‘1 Million Strong’ initiative, a national campaign to expand Mandarin language learning from Kindergarten to Grade 12 at schools in the US. The aim of the initiative is to raise the number of students learning Mandarin in schools from the current 200,000 to one million by 2020.
Under the agreement, Cyberport based Mandarin Matrix will collaborate with Tencent’s VIPKID and the University of Oregon’s Center for Applied Second Language Studies to develop and leverage technology to improve and increase access to Mandarin language classes, especially in underserved communities in the US.

Mandarin Matrix specialises in publishing teaching materials to help Kindergarten through to Grade 12 students learn Chinese as a foreign language. Having established a presence in schools in Asia Pacific, the company recently entered the US market.
